Rather, it resembles a two-storey Pannonian house. Next to the three permitted plots it also stands on a fourth one, agricultural land for which the Murska Sobota Administrative Unit did not receive a building permit application.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<button onclick=\"window.open('https:\/\/ostro-center.squarespace.com\/en\/stories\/asset-detector-minister-jeveks-garage-that-grew-into-a-pannonian-house', '_blank')\"> Minister Jev\u0161ek\u2019s Garage that Grew into a Pannonian House <\/button>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the numerous questions in our inquiry about the situation, Mr. Jev\u0161ek was initially brief: \u201cTo my knowledge, all buildings in Filovski Gaj were constructed legally. I have been informed about the inspection procedure and am actively participating in it. I will provide all explanations within the framework of this procedure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the publication of our story, however, Mr. Jev\u0161ek became more talkative in his statements to other media outlets. For example, he told the Sobotainfo.com portal that the procedure for changing the intended use of the allegedly controversial building has been ongoing since the beginning of last year. He repeated the statement that he had \u201calready submitted an application for a change of use of the building\u201d in a&nbsp;<em>24ur<\/em>&nbsp;news segment, where he said that the procedure could not proceed precisely because of the agricultural fourth plot, and that he would have to submit a proposal to change the municipal spatial plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote>If a building does not comply with the issued building permit, or was built without a building permit, it is illegal.<\/blockquote>\n<figcaption> \u2014 Murska Sobota Administrative Unit <\/figcaption>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image odmik-left\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"724\" src=\"https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-1024x724.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36091\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4143756005331185;width:485px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-1024x724.webp 1024w, https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-600x424.webp 600w, https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-300x212.webp 300w, https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-768x543.webp 768w, https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-1536x1086.webp 1536w, https:\/\/ostro.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/drawink-1-2048x1448.webp 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In media appearances, he claimed that O\u0161tro\u2019s publication contained \u201cmany unverified untruths and inaccurate information\u201d and that, as a result, \u201cthis story has had a negative impact on the Slovenian public\u201d. He didn\u2019t explain which of our data was inaccurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We checked the minister\u2019s statements about the application to change the intended use of the \u2018garage\u2019 at the administrative unit in Murska Sobota. As they explained to O\u0161tro this week, the investor has not yet submitted a request to change the intended use of the building, so the administrative authority could not initiate the procedure for changing the intended use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf a building does not comply with the issued building permit, or was built without a building permit, it is illegal,\u201d they explained. They added that in order for a decision on the legalization of a building to be issued, the conditions set out in the applicable building law and municipal spatial plan must be met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>We checked the minister\u2019s statements about the application for a change in the intended use of the \u2018garage\u2019 at the administrative unit in Murska Sobota. They have no record of such an application.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we have already reported, the Murska Sobota Administrative Unit has also not received an application for a building permit for the fourth land plot the building extends onto.
