Ostro in a new look after eight years
The time has come for a look that better reflects what Oštro has become, while also supporting the newsroom’s plans and goals. And so we tailored a new outfit for Oštro – visually and sonically.
In eight years, much has changed: the way people consume media, the amount of information competing for attention every day, and the role of independent journalism. A good story is no longer enough today; what also matters is how it addresses the reader, guides them through the content, and creates space for focus in an environment that is constantly unbalanced.
That is why we did not understand the redesign as a cosmetic update, but as a reflection on our relationship with the reader. How do you create an identity that does not shout, yet is still recognizable. How to build a media outlet that feels modern without losing seriousness. And how to design a visual language that supports stories instead of competing with them.
Oštro is therefore pleased to present its renewed visual identity and website, which enables a more readable, more modern, and more open user experience.
The redesign was created in collaboration with masters of creative concepts Marko Miladinović and Ljubo Bratina, while the website was migrated to WordPress and rebuilt by the company WPM.
Oštro now also has a distinctive audio identity — the music was created by Pier from the collective Roots in Session, while the script and production were handled by the team from Radio Študent.
But the essence of Oštro remains unchanged despite the new appearance: credible journalism in a media landscape driven by speed, persistence in verifying information, and the search for answers to questions that often deserve more time than the daily news cycle allows.
The new design is therefore primarily a signpost: so you can find us more easily, recognize us, and read us.Nova podoba je zato predvsem kažipot: da nas boste lažje našli, prepoznali in brali.
