Oštro is an independent and non‑profit online media outlet focused on investigative journalism in the public interest.

We monitor centers of power to strengthen transparency, accountability, and human rights in society. Our work is grounded in a professional journalistic team, verified facts, transparent operations, and full editorial independence.

Oštro acts as a social and professional corrective. We do not accept clickbait, sensationalism, or content that is not in the public interest. We develop future generations of journalists and thus contribute long‑term to preserving quality journalism in Slovenian media.

In our work, we are fearless yet consistent, ethical, and professional. We see the public as a key stakeholder in a democratic society.

Oštro is not for sale — not for money, influence, or clicks. It has no list of untouchables. It operates with radical transparency and without compromise. It carries no advertising content. It owes nothing to anyone.

Oštro will uphold only the public interest and produce journalism that rejects the daily agenda‑setting of others.

Oštro will collaborate with related journalistic organizations.

Oštro will proactively disclose any real or perceived conflicts of interest when publishing journalistic stories.

Oštro will never reveal its sources and will use every available tool to ensure the highest possible level of confidentiality for them.

Oštro will operate transparently and in full view of the public. It will be financed through grants, its own activities, and by gratefully accepting contributions and donations. Everything not spent on labour and service costs will be reinvested directly into journalistic work.
