The tracking device stopped emitting a signal before the waste item was transported from the place of disposal. The Maribor Public Holding company, majority shareholder of the Maribor Snaga, explained that the item most probably ended up in the waste sorting centre. On this occasion, they also warned us that the battery of the tracking device could have caused a fire in the sorting centre during the crushing of materials, therefore disposal of items containing batteries in mixed waste is irresponsible.

The packaging arrived at the facility of the Salomon company where waste is sorted and some of the items are forwarded for recycling. The part of packaging unsuited for recycling is used to produce hard fuel from waste that is used in cement plants instead of coal and petroleum products.
